Text:🚨The rights of transgender and gay students ARE protected at school by Title IX, @potus @joebiden's administration said Wednesday, reversing GOP-authored guidance that said those students were not protected by any federal laws. 🏳️‍⚧️❤️

⭐️Artist Statement: March on Washington - Washington, DC, - August 28, 2020 - Lincoln Memorial - NiiLee facing the Lincoln Memorial as Reverend Al Sharpton presents.

⭐️Bio: NiiLee is a 35-year-old black trans woman who has cultivated a following surrounding her ability to cultivate safe spaces for trans education and liberation. She has hosted multiple panel discussions adding balance to conversations regarding a lived trans experience with hopes to uncover any unconscious biases and shed light on an experience that is still marginalized and consider taboo table talk. She has also conducted DEI trainings with corporations to discover ways to navigate professional language within the workplace.

#PrideMonth: A new pilot program in San Francisco

#PrideMonth: A new pilot program in San Francisco could set an example for the rest of the country regarding how to support marginalized communities. Mayor London Breed announced last Tuesday that the city will soon be providing a no-strings-attached, monthly payment of $1,000 to low-income, transgender residents of the city. If approved by the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, it would mean that 150 trans residents could begin receiving checks this fall.

.@ariasaid, executive director of the @transgenderdistrict, said the announcement came as a surprise, even despite the fact that she has strongly advocated for a guaraunteed income program geared toward the trans community. Throughout the COVID-19 crisis, the Transgnder District — which is the first of its kind in the world — provided economic relief in the form of cash handouts to over 600 trans people.

To Sa’id, the lack of communication indicates that the communities who have been doing this advocacy work for years were not included in the plans.
