Bodily autonomy is essential for trans people. Against the backdrop of Roe v. Wade being overturned, TransLash Media launched #TransBodiesTransChoices, a storytelling initiative centering the importance of reproductive justice for transgender, non-binary and gender non-conforming people. Through Trans Bodies, Trans Choices, TGNC people use their voices to reveal the personal stake that this community has in critical conversations about control over our bodies.
Through video, audio, the written word, art and social media, Trans Bodies, Trans Choices amplifies the voices of trans people on issues including access to fertility and other reproductive services, medical care, body image, abortion and more. With #TransBodiesTransChoices we end the invisibility of TGNC people when it comes to choice through the power of personal narrative. Access all our content below and follow the hashtag on social media.
Since launching our Trans Bodies, Trans Choices campaign on March 14, 2022, the short films in our series have screened at festivals worldwide. We are proud that audiences at Official Trans Pride Brighton Annual Film Event, Outfest Los Angeles LGBTQ Film Festival, Atlanta Black Pride Film Festival, aGLIFF Prism Film Festival, Tampa Bay International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival have learned more about bodily autonomy and reproductive rights for TGNC people through our storytelling and activism.
