TransLash tells trans stories to save trans lives. As a trusted source for journalists, thought-leaders, movement activists, researchers, and those wanting to know about trans people, we produce narratives about and for the trans community––accurately and reliably. At a time when disinformation about trans people is being used to undermine democracy and human rights, TransLash serves as a beacon of hope through the voices of our community that we share with the world.

By leveraging the power of journalism and personal narratives, TransLash creates trans-affirming content, valuable resources, and events in collaboration with partners and allies. Our investigative journalism decodes how the #AntiTransHateMachine targets trans people, and our #TransBodiesTransChoices film series tells trans abortion stories. With violence in all of its forms continuing to impact trans people, especially those who are Black and brown, we center #TransJoy. Our intersectional programming featuring TGNC history-makers and allies has been incorporated into educational resources and reporting worldwide.

What started out as a personal, award-nominated docuseries by our Founder and CEO Imara Jones, telling the story of what it was like to be trans and gender nonconforming (TGNC) during the Trump-era’s anti-trans backlash, has grown into the TransLash Media of today. Now an all-screens news and media nonprofit, TransLash has attracted and cultivated an influential digital community.

Dig into our GLAAD and NLGJA-award winning podcast series, critically lauded short films, influential newsletter and News & Narrative platform, high-engagement social media content, trans-affirming resource guides, the TransLash Zine series in collaboration with POC Zine Project, and other exciting initiatives in development.

Using the power of  journalism and personal narrative, Team TransLash creates, curates, and presents  trans-affirming content, resources, and events in collaboration with our partners, as well as  with trans individuals and allies. Our work centers the humanity of the most marginalized of the marginalized. TransLash programming includes the WEBBY nominated TransLash Podcast, a live virtual event series, weekly community TalkBack episodes & a companion newsletter, resource guides, the TransLash Zine series in collaboration with POC Zine Project, and other exciting initiatives in development.
